The Bone Fortress (骨の城 Hone no shiro, lit. Bone Castle) is a Land from Legend of Mana. In contrast to it's morbid structure, the scenario around is of diverse types of plant life, sustained by the very same powerful mana energy that maintains the fortress, the protector to one of the three Mana Stones. It is home to The Deathbringer and Jajara.

The Ghost of Nemesis[]
On his mission to retrieve the three Mana Stones, Larc, alongside the Hero/Heroine, receive an order from a Skeletal Soldier at The Cranium Gate. After defeating it, they enter by the open mouth of the skeletal fortress.
At the entrance, they fall into a trap that separates the group. The Hero/Heroine must find their way back to them.
After finding the Pet or Golem the player may have brought along and heading into the Third Floor, the Hero/Heroine is ambushed by Sierra, who questions them why they are following Drakonis' plans. Even if the player responds that they don't know, Sierra will attack, as the Hero/Heroine's death would be enough to put a stop to Drakonis' without the need to kill Larc. Upon her defeat, she remarks she won't stop her chase, and vanishes.
Going to the Second Floor to find Larc, the player may then go to the Third Floor once again to continue the pursuit of the Mana Stone. Before that, they will be attacked at the Ribcage Hallway by The Deathbringer, who seems to have had some past encounters with Larc.
After his defeat, Jajara will be in the next room. He questions Larc as to why he continues on delivering so much bloodshed. He is fought against by the group, even coming to the point of reforming himself to a second form, but it is useless as he is again defeated, but not entirely vanished.
Larc will locate the Mana Stone, and explain that the fertile surroudings of the fortress, suistained by the power of the mana stone, will wither and die. Jajara had constructed the castle in the hopes of hiding the stone. Larc then may answer a question of the Hero/Heroine, and will reward them the Green Cane artifact.

The Field Trip[]
A group of Students and Flowerlings are reunited in tents besides the fortress in search for the reagents of a composition. The mixing Student in green at the entrance asks the Hero/Heroine for their help. The player must talk with the searching Flowerlings and Students and gather correctly three reagents: Spotted Silver Mushrooms, Faerie Scales, and Star Sparkles. Upon bringing those to the Student, they will successfully produce "Tiagran" and will reward the Hero/Heroine with an Oblong Seed.
