The Kilroy Boss Line has two variants: Kilroy and Kettle Kin.

Kilroy[]

Kilroy

Kilroy

Statistics[]

  • HP: 900
  • MP: 13
  • DEF: 11
  • EXP: 686
  • GP: 650
  • Weapon Orb: Javelin
  • Weakness: legs and wheel
  • Location: Scorpion Army's hidden ship

Strategy[]

If you went back to Pandora Castle after defeating Wall Face, you can get into the storeroom there and pick up a Sword's Orb, a Spear's Orb, and some gold pieces. Forge your sword and your spear and level them until they reach level 3. The extra damage will help in this next battle. You should also be at least level 14 or higher, as well.

Kilroy is more annoying than difficult. You might want to have some medical herbs with you, just in case he moogles you. Basically, all this guy does is attempt to attack you with his hammer - once you deal enough damage to him, he'll roll around on a wheel and move faster. Keep moving to stay away from him and to avoid being moogled. Kilroy can also cast a level 1 Lunar Boost, which raises his attack power, but he rarely does, and if he does, it runs out within 15 seconds usually, so you do not have to worry too much about that. He does not have any weaknesses, though, so Popoi can cast any spell and still cause the same amount of damage to him. Purim should cast level 2 Cure Water if anyone needs HP, and Randi should attack Kilroy with level 3 sword attacks.

Kettle Kin[]

Statistics[]

  • HP: 1230
  • MP: 33
  • EXP: 15555
  • GP: 3360
  • Weapon Orb: Bow
  • Weakness: None
  • Location: Underground City

Strategy[]

Your magic should all be level 6-7, and your levels should be somewhere around 48 or higher, depending on how long you fought around in the Underground City.

Nothing to worry about here, he has barely 1300 HP, which a couple of level 7 Burst spells can take off really quick. Lucid Barrier will prevent any physical damage from getting through, so you'd better stick to magic for this fight.

Trivia[]

  • In the Super NES version of Secret of Mana, Kettle Kin wields two hammers. In the Super Famicom (Japanese) version and the HD remake, he wields a chainsaw.
  • Kilroy and Kettle Kin appear in Seiken Densetsu 3 as the Guardian and the Death Machine (their names in the Japanese version of Secret of Mana); however, they are only normal enemies in this game. A third variant, the Machine Golem, appears in a couple of dungeons as a boss.
