Roger (コンゴ Kongo, lit. Congo) is a character from Legend of Mana. 55 years of age, Roger is one who has deluded himself into believing that he has found divinity in his pet dog Putty, thereafter orchestrating the formation of a cult around Putty. This cult also involves the Dudbears, whose simple-mindedness were exploited by Roger and thereafter corrupted into an witless worship of Putty.
Profile[]
Personality[]
Sporting a brutish, ape-ish countenance, Roger is defined by a personality that matches; a shining example of the stereotypical brawny man who is severely deficient in terms of intelligence, he can be observed to, in all his appearances, display a remarkable ineptness in infusing sensibility into the ridiculous decisions that he makes. The most obvious example illustrating this fact is that of his deifying his pet dog Putty, thereafter spinning off a religious cult around the animal, one that sees it being disturbingly worshiped by both its master and the Dudbears alike.
Further worsening one's impression of Roger is the fact that he has been portrayed to be quite the tyrant in his treatment of the Dudbears; seeing them as nothing more than indispensable pawns slaving for him, he treats them with little dignity and respect as he makes it a point to drum the virulent concept of "salvation through labor" into their heads and forcefully recruiting them into his cult.
