Selva (セルヴァ Seruva) is a character from Legend of Mana. One of Seven Wisdoms existing in the world of Fa'Diel, Selva is said to be exceedingly knowledgeable of the happenings taking place within it, owing to the fact that he constantly derives information from the Lilipeas and birds. During his conversations with Matilda in the Faerie story arc, Selva reveals that he has paid especial attention to her ever since she was born, alongside the fact that he possesses a profound understanding of her character and leanings.
Selva reappears in Sword of Mana as the first Wisdom that can be acquired by the player. He functions as the Wisdom of Wind in this game.
Even though his soul inhabits an artifact that takes on a child-like appearance, Selva possesses an infinitum of knowledge and wisdom nevertheless, one that has been tempered ever since his participation in the long-terminated holy war of Fa'Diel.
Much like his fellow Wisdom brethren, Selva's insight into the workings of Fa'Diel and its inhabitants is one that is unrivaled; his interactions with Matilda in the Dreamweaving Room reveal his intimate understanding of the underlying mechanisms of how the world of Fa'Diel is shaped, alongside the key figures that are responsible for catalysing the momentous change that is to come.
In spite of the hallowed position that he is principally defined by, Selva has displayed a tendency to enjoy engaging in a spot bit of fun every now and then; his actions in Lucemia during Heaven's Gate prove this, as he blithely attempts to alter the certain doom that awaits Irwin by shrewdly trying to convince the Hero/Heroine to give up halting the former's apocalyptic plot.
